I really liked this text. It was quite a bit more technical and exact than the class I used it for, but it was nice when I was curious about how something worked or didn't understand it from lecture. Defiantly and intro type of text. For me there was a lot of review from high school in it, but it did go more in depth. This is more of a biological perspective on biochemistry than a chemical perspective.By Katherine A Brown
Pratt and Cornely have done the almost impossible. They have put together an informative biochemistry textbook that is very well designed and will not overwhelm students in a 1 semester course. The boxed Biochemistry Notes, Problems and Answers, and Clinical Connections are definite pluses, as well as the well thought out end-of-chapter question sets. My only beef - the answers keys are provided only for odd numbered questions in the textbook. Answers to all questions should be made available to students and not just for instructors. If use of extra paper/pages is an issue, the answer keys can be made available online through WileyPLUS.By SM60
