About the Author

Nilmini Wickramasinghe was born in Sri Lanka. After completing five degrees from The University of Melbourne, Australia, she accepted a full scholarship to undertake PhD studies with Michael Ginzberg at Case Western Reserve University, Ohio in the United States of America. During this time she was involved with many research projects focusing on health care issues. Currently, Dr. Wickramasinghe is an assistant professor in the Computer and Information Science Department at the James J. Nance College of Business Administration at Cleveland State University, Ohio USA. Here she teaches Information Systems at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the areas of knowledge management as well as e-commerce and m-commerce, IT for competitive advantage organizational impacts of technology and healthcare issues. In addition, Dr Wickramasinghe teaches and presents regularly in many universities in Europe and Australia. Dr Wickramasinghe is honored to be able to represent th! e United States of America for the Health Care Technology Management (HCTM) Association. Jatinder N. D. Gupta is currently Eminent Scholar of Management, Professor of Management Information Systems, and Chairperson of the Department of Accounting and Information Systems in the College of Administrative Science at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, USA. Most recently, he was Professor of Management, Information and Communication Sciences, and Industry and Technology at the Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana. He holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering (with specialization in Production Management and Information Systems) from Texas Tech University. Recipient of the Outstanding Faculty and Outstanding Researcher awards from Ball State University, he has published numerous papers in such journals as Journal of Management Information Systems, International Journal of Information Management, INFORMS Journal of Computing, Annals of Operations Research, and Mathematics of Operations Research. His current research interests include information and decision techno! logies, scheduling, planning and control, organizational learning and effectiveness, systems education, and knowledge management. Sushil K. Sharma currently Assistant Professor of Management for the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management at Ball State University, Indiana. He received his PhD in Information Systems from Pune University, India and has taught at the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow for eleven years before joining Ball State University. Dr. Sharma held the position of Visiting Research Associate Professor at the Department of Management Science, Universiyt of Waterloo, Canada. His primary teaching interests are e-commerce, computer communication networks, database mangemetn systems, management information systems and information systems analysis and design. He has a wide range of consulting experience and has served as a consultant to several governmnet and private organizations including World Bank funding projects. His currect research interests include database management systems, networking environments, electronic commerce, knowledge management and corporat! e information systems. He is the co-author of several book chapters dealing with several of these topics.
