The McKinley/O’Loughlin/Bidle: Anatomy & Physiology: An Integrative Approach text brings multiple elements of the study of A&P together in ways that maximize understanding. Text discussions provide structural details in the context of their functional significance to integrate coverage of anatomy and physiology in each chapter. Chapters emphasize the interdependence of body systems by weaving prior coverage of one system into textual explanations of how other systems work. These system relationships are also covered in “Integrate: Concept Connection” boxes. All figures are carefully designed to support the text narrative, and carry brief textual explanations to make figures self-contained study tools. Special “Concept Overview” figures in each chapter tie together multi-faceted concepts in 1- or 2-page visual summaries. Applications are presented in “Integrate: Clinical View” boxes to apply chapter content using clinical examples that show students what can go wrong in the body, to help crystallize understanding of the “norm;” clinical scenarios are also used in “What Do You Think?”, “Can You Apply What You’ve Learned?”, and “Can You Synthesize What You’ve Learned?” question sets; and career opportunities pursued by students studying A&P are highlighted at the beginning of each chapter. Everyday analogies and practical advice for remembering material are presented in “Integrate: Learning Strategy” boxes. Chapters end with a summary of media tools available to help learn each chapter’s content.

Since Amazon did not include a detailed enough description nor did its customer service have further information about the item to tell me what the difference was in this vs. Connect Anatomy & Physiology with LearnSmart 2 Semester Access Card for Anatomy & Physiology this item. I went through the legwork myself of contacting the publisher (McGraw Hill) to delineate the differences. Hopefully this helps other customers in finding what they need.

This item contains BOTH the ebook and the instructor's materials. For a bit less money, you can opt to purchase the Connect which only gives you access to your instructor's materials - the best bet if you didn't buy your hardcopy text in a bundle, if you're renting a textbook, trying to safe money, or you don't care about having a back-up of an ebook easily accessed at any time along with your hardcopy. The Connect Plus is a better option for students on a budget and who can deal with ebook formats vs. buying a hardcopy.

But if you can afford another $40, having an ebook isn't too bad of a back-up option for those on those go - so opt for the Connect "Plus".

I ended up purchasing this item since it worked out the cheapest and I didn't mind not having a hard copy textbook.

I actually have this book for an A&P i'm taking in college. I find the illustrations to be very helpful, and the text is not as confusing as a lot of other books I have had to read for the same type of classes. Sometimes there is extra information that really isn't necessary for the level in which we need to know for our class, but it does have a lot of good information. It is a little pricey I will agree, however I payed $360 for my copy of the book, but it came with my lab book and a activation code for connect and a couple of other online A&P websites activation codes. Plus, I get to use this book for A&P 1 as well as 2 so really being I get to use the same book and lab manual and all off the online tools for two classes $360 is really pretty reasonable.
