First off, I studied for this exam on my own without any course aide. As I went through this book I had more headaches about the book than the exam material.

1. No answers. Really?? The book says "quick check" but how do I check whether I'm answering the questions correctly? How am I supposed to check anything without answers? (other reviewers have mentioned the same)

2. Errors (especially in math). I had to double check with calculators and sat there trying to figure out if I am missing something. (again, something other reviewers have mentioned. Didn't expect them to be this bad nor this many)

3. Poor explanations and out of order. They have notes that are hidden off to the side and not written in the main passage of the book. It's so poor that when I decided to go through practice exams in the Mosby's Review for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination, I find myself using google to search for explanations instead of this book.

Conclusion: I'm sure for those that are taking classes along with this book they will have an easier time going through this book. However, for those studying on their own, buy it at your own risk. Unfortunately I cannot suggest an alternative book. If you already took a course and need a refresher, I suggest the Mosby's Review for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination as they give a good overview of what you will need to know.

The 3rd edition has 31 chapters of exhaustive information. This I like. However, each chapter has a 30 question review quiz to which no answer key is available. Seriously Mosby's???
